Our founder, Élise Fontaine, spent fifteen years working in traditional publishing houses before realizing that too many remarkable stories were being left untold. Aspiring authors often felt overwhelmed by the complexity of writing, editing, designing, and publishing a book. Élise set out to create a company that would remove those barriers and make professional book creation accessible to everyone — from first-time memoirists to seasoned business leaders.

A dream takes shape
Élise Fontaine launches Book Legacy Builder as a solo editing practice from her home office in Montréal, driven by the conviction that professional book services should be accessible to independent authors and families wanting to preserve their histories.
Growing the team
Demand for ghostwriting and full-service book creation grows rapidly. Marcus Chen and Sophie Larouche join the team, bringing expertise in non-fiction writing and developmental editing. The company moves into its first dedicated office space.
